The Role
The Media Relations Assistant will support our media outreach efforts and assist in developing and implementing communications strategies. You'll work closely with the CEO to secure media coverage and maintain client relationships.
Spearhead media outreach campaigns for key clients
Develop and maintain strong relationships with top-tier journalists and content creators
Craft compelling pitches and press materials that capture media attention
Provide strategic counsel to clients on media relations best practices
Mentor junior team members on effective media outreach techniques

You’ll be Responsible For:
Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive media relations strategies tailored to each client's goals and industry
Media Outreach: Lead proactive pitching efforts to secure interviews, features, and coverage in target media outlets
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain a network of media contacts across various industries
Content Creation: Craft high-quality press releases, pitches, and other media materials
Reporting and Analysis: Track and analyze media coverage, providing insightful reports to clients and the internal team
Team Leadership: Offer guidance and mentorship to junior PR team members on media relations best practices

Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related field is preferred but not required if compensated by experience.

Have experience in PR for arts, entertainment, nonprofit, or lifestyle sectors.
Possess a strong personal network of media contacts in relevant industries.
Are proficient with advanced PR tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, Qwoted, and media monitoring platforms.
Bring a portfolio of successful high-profile media placements or case studies.
Have experience with content creation beyond traditional PR materials (e.g., social media strategy, thought leadership articles).
